Abstract

Indonesia has the dependence on petroleum. Given the amount of supply and Indonesia's oil reserves dwindling, it's time to develop alternative energy sources newest raw material of vegetable oil, that is biodiesel. One of the raw material of biodiesel is jatropha (Jatropha curcas L.). The oil content in seeds (with shell) containing 20-40% vegetable oil, at the core of seeds (seeds without shells) contain 45-60% crude oil. However, to obtain maximum oil content of Jatropha, needed temperature and soil moisture are controlled continuously. Because that, needed a tool for monitoring the plant. In this thesis use Wireless Sensor Network technology (WSN). WSN is a wireless network consisting of multiple sensors that work together to monitor environmental physical and conditions. The process starts from the coordinator sends the data to the router user as a gateway and then the data are sent to the computer and will be shown using VB 6.0. Based on the test results of 30 times of testing. The router user data is received, and router user can receive data properly in accordance with the data sent by the coordinator, Tests conducted on the application 20 times the data that is shown on the application in accordance with the data sent by the router user, indicators and alarms can works well when the error occurred on end point, and if the sensor exceeds a specified threshold.
