Abstract

Phonocardiogram is a graphic record of heart sounds made by a phonocardiograph. That graphic produced by the systolic phase and diastolic phase. Diastolic phase of heart sound signal has very important information. Feature extraction is an important process because it is able to provide information content on the frequency domain and time domain that can be used to signals classification. Pre-processing and decomposition are stages of feature extraction. Adaptive soft threshold was applied in this study for optimal result and able to adjust the signal element. Increased Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) output on diastolic signal contaminated by gaussian and white noise of 5 dB, 10 dB, and 15 dB, using Discrete Wavelet Transform, with decomposition level 10 as denoising method proved that Adaptive soft thresholding can reduce noise. SNR output of carry out White Noise with DWT 5th order coiflet are 6.5682, 11.254, 16.0091. SNR output of carry out White Noise with DWT 2nd order coiflet are 6.3703, 11.3494, 15.8872. SNR output of carry out Gaussian Noise with DWT 5th order coiflet are 8.0982, 12.0756, 17.2666. SNR output of carry out Gaussian Noise with DWT 2nd order coiflet are 7.7465, 11.3083, 16.6847.
