Abstract

Understanding of Linux Operating System is affected by internal and external factors. Several factors including the motivation to learn and learning methods. Low motivation can make you feel lazy in following the lectures, as well as varied learning methods which will be felt less monotonous so that students become bored. To determine the influence of motivation to learn and learning methods will require research in order to obtain accurate answers. The problems examined in this study were (1) Whether there is influence between motivation and student learning methods to the understanding of Linux Operating System? (2) Are there influences learning motivation of students to the understanding of Linux Operating System? (3) Are there influences student learning methods to the understanding of Linux Operating System?. This study aimed (1) determine whether there is influence between motivation to learn and learning methods to the understanding of Linux Operating System (2) determine whether there is motivation to study the influence of the understanding of Linux Operating System? (3) Determine whether there is influence of teaching methods to the understanding of Linux Operating System?. The study population is students S1 Computer Accounting STIKOM Surabaya of 20 people with a number of data retrieval 16 students. There are three variables that were examined in this study, namely: learning motivation, learning methods and understanding of the Linux operating system. Sources of data derived from primary and secondary data. Data retrieved through questionnaires, tests, observation and validation RPP. Test the validity of using the formula of Pearson Product Moment. And reliability testing using a formula Alpha. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis of the percentage.
