Abstract
Utilization of information technology in enterprises are increasing along with the the competition in globalization era. Many companies have invested heavily in the field of information technology systems in order to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, quality, and employee productivity. Utilization of information technology have also been applied to higher education institutions in Indonesia especially STMIK Surabaya. Many research on the factors that influence the utilization of information technology has been done by the the expert, but still exhibited inconsistent results. Research on the impact of the information technology utilization on STMIK Surabaya's managerial performance is need to be done so that the institution can direct its members to use information technology to effectively. Questionnaires were distributed to all structural STMIK Surabaya in 2012 as the research respondents. Data were analyzed with the Partial Least Square method and calculated using software SmartPLS ver 2.0. Results of the analysis in this research showed the complexity factor increase the rate of information technology utilization, which have an impact on improving managerial performance. The results also showed that the task-technology suitability factors do not affect the level of information technology utilization, and the level of information technology utilization had no effect on managerial performance.
